Austin and I hit the open road after work Wednesday... Austin's goal? To see wildlife, deer and a fox.
First stop, gas and treats. Austin picked chocolate milk and some licorice. Dad picked "snaps" and a raspberry Fuze. On the road Austin decided he loved Dad's snaps and soon was on a total sugar high (BTW, 4yr old and really messy candy not the best parental judgment). Soon we saw a whole field of wild turkey's, Austin loved yelling out of the car window and scaring them away. Then 10 miles back from home, we found what we were searching for! We must have seen over 100+ deer in the fields...um, Austin has now lost all interest in deer.
We never saw a fox... maybe 59 minute road trip next time?

I'm glad Grandpa's not the only one giving these kids treats! You chose the sugar free licorice, Snaps and chocolate milk, I'm sure.
Snaps actually come in four colors: pink, white, orange and green--each a member of the four basic food groups. With chocolate milk, licorice and Fuze you actually covered all seven.
I'm glad that you took the time to have a great and adventurous 57 minute road trip! In Texas that will just about get you to the next town, with no wildlife to see in the meantime, but maybe a few pump jacks and a tumbleweed? :)
Oh what an awesome Dad you are. So fun to catch up with your cute fam. We love you.
