Holy cow, how we've played here in the desert of New Mexico...and our new motto, "Every night is family night"!
This last week we enjoyed a spur of the minute trip to the base of Tome Hill to explore the statue, hike up some volcanic rocks and find bugs.
We hit the jackpot when we discovered a bunch of millipedes, Allie just thought they looked like worms with legs, and Austin swears, "there must be at least 25 legs on that bug"...
Of course we saw another beautiful New Mexico sunset, too bad the camera just can't capture the awe of the actual.
Boy are we turning into desert rats!

Once you've explored all of the corners of ABQ you need to take a little drive (yes, little) to Midland... :) We still need to do a trip to Carlsbad too!
Your kids are sure growing up and are so stinkin' cute. You look like you are having a great time in your new home.
I hope you truly do like it there! We are planning a trip out there this spring so Lisa we will have to meet you at the zoo or something.
Are millipedes poisonous? (A question only a concerned grandfather might ask.) Thanks for posting the pictures?
Wow, and I thought Utah was a desert-- how dead wrong am I! Check out that centipede, sheesh! I'm glad you are making every night a family night! You guys are the best. :) Glad you are having fun down there! I would LOVE to come visit you in the winter, when it is especially freezing up here!
